Haaaaave you met Boxee??? Well, you should. This tiny little app is very quickly making itself irreplaceable. Never mind the cute tilted face logo (or is that a movie reel?) – Boxee is pure beauty and brawn. Enough of the initial enthusiasm, let's talk about what Boxee can do.
With Boxee, you can view you favorite TV shows, videos or photos from sites like Hulu, CNN, ABC, Flickr and YouTube – just to name a few. Boxee will also allow you to access your Netflix account to watch movies from your queue on-demand. Not only that, but you can access your music library, movies, even RSS feeds. All of this from the comfort of your couch and on your flat-screen. WITH A MAC REMOTE! It's hard for me to bury my enthusiasm when it comes to well-integrated and designed apps like this one.

I do, however, have a few bits of negative criticism about Boxee. First off, it still has limited access to content that is posted on their partner sites. Plus, we found that the Netfilx feature would hang up quite a bit. DOH! Additionally, Boxee has some issues recognizing the iTunes .m4p file format – an issue that I am sure will be remedied quickly.

None the less, Boxee is a good example of the direction our collective media and entertainment are heading. Cable companies are quickly becoming dinosaurs in the new frontier of digital everything. Although there is still room for improvement, I foresee Boxee becoming one of the leaders in interactive entertainment. Look out Apple TV. Yeah, I said it.
Oh, did mention it's FREE??? You can take Boxee out for a spin by visiting their website now.
